Sacred Sheep is an annual event celebrating our maker's community. With a focus on local artisans, we aim to create an inclusive, community-minded space for fiber enthusiasts. Sacred Sheep is held in November in Portland, Oregon and is comprised of a marketplace for maker vendors, meet-ups, food, classes and more.

Why have we called this event Sacred Sheep you may ask? The imagery around Sacred Sheep is an inspiration. Sacred can be defined as something that inspires awe, reverence, and respect. As knitters, we believe that the sheep that provide us wool and every maker contributing something along the way to a finished object deserves such respect and celebration. Our hope is to create a fun and inclusive fiber event to celebrate our maker community.

Yes! You will need an entry ticket for the marketplace as well as the exterior courtyard where food, gathering and meet-ups are taking place. If you have tickets to a class that doesn't grant access to the marketplace, and vice-versa.

This year, we are implementing timed entry. We hope this will help mitigate long lines and too much waiting as well as insure a pleasant shopping experience. Please note that the timed entry is for your entry to the marketplace. You are welcome to check in early and gain access to the courtyard where there will be so much happening.

You can purchase tickets for the event here! You can also schedule a class at either The Redd on Salmon or at the Ritual Dyes shop here.

For more information on ADA companion tickets and other details you can review this page here.

There will be a lovely Quiet Tent again this year, bigger than last! Thank you to Tin Can Knits & A Verb for Keeping Warm who are sponsoring this initiative. The Quiet Tent offers a calm, talk-free respite from the busy marketplace.

Last year we were overwhelmed with the incredible response to our fiber flash tattoos! This year, we will be bringing back Tom Alvarado and his crew and they will be ready to take on more appointments. Please note this is first-come, first served and appointments will sell out. We plan to offer appointments for same-day only with limited sign up availability during the VIP event.

FYI, Sunday may offer an easier opportunity to get an appointment!

Ah, the VIP event!

This is an incredible opportunity to get some fiber VIP time! Friday, November 1st from 4-7pm we will be welcoming the VIP attendees to shop (before the general marketplace opens!), receive your generously stuffed swag bag, enjoy small bites from Indigenous pop-up, Javelinas, drinks and meticulously crafted cocktails from locals Straightaway Cocktails! We will be enjoying a fun atmosphere! Some exciting things planned to help benefit Sisters United.

The tickets are limited, and nearly sold out. You can check current availability and purchase yours here!

We have a capacity limitation in place at The Redd on Salmon and kids do count towards our capacity limit for the event. Everyone will need to have their own ticket. However, we get how tough it can be to find childcare sometimes! If you have a little one under age 8, shoot us an email and we can work on getting you a companion ticket.
