The Volunteer Interest Form will be available here on May 18th. You will hear back from us within a few days about whether or not we've been able to secure you a volunteer shift. Assignments and roles won't happen until the end of August.

- Shifts are between 2-4 hours and assigned in August.

- 10 minutes before your shift, come to the ADA Entrance of Redd on Salmon (831 SE Salmon St, Portland). To get there, you will follow signs for the Classroom Entrance. It is directly across / around the building from the main check in area.

- At that time, you will receive your assignment for your shift and general training for that role (nothing complicated, I promise).

- There will be a container for bags & coats, but the lighter you can travel the better. The box is not lock-protected and Sacred Sheep is not responsible for lost and stolen items.

- Given the season, the weather can sometimes be cold and rainy. Be mindful of the weather when picking your layers. Volunteers assigned to Check In roles will be outside (mostly under cover).

- There will be periodic breaks available during your shift if you want them.

- Once your shift is complete, you are welcome to stay and enjoy the event or head off into further adventure.

As a volunteer you are an integral part of the event! We greatly value our vounteers and your commitment to the sucess of this local fiber festival. All volunteers will receive :

  • Free entrance to the event in addition to their volunteer shift. After volunteer sign ups are complete, you will select an Entry Time and Date of your choice for your free market entrance. This is limited to Saturday and Sunday. Entry Times are your opportunity to start shopping the market; you are welcome to enjoy the courtyard anytime before your market entry time.
  • Discount on Sacred Sheep merch during the event
  • One time discount at Ritual Dyes shop after the event has concluded
  • Our volunteer roster changes up until the last minute (with new sign-ups, cancellations, and swaps)
  • The only permanently assigned roles are for our Check-In Team, since that role requires a pre-event training session
  • For all other volunteers, roles may shift right up until your shift begins. This flexibility helps our Volunteer Coordinator ensure all essential volunteer spots are covered and that things run smoothly on the day.

Sacred Sheep is put on by the team at Ritual Dyes, a local Portland based dye studio and LYS. You can read more about our small team in here.
